Offshore Subcontract Services

Pentz offers a unique solution that enables our customers to take advantage of offshore pricing without sacrificing quality or delivery. We accomplish this by building two sets of production tooling onshore.

The first set is used to produce initial production at our foundry in Duvall, Washington. The second set is transferred to our offshore foundry for qualification. Once parts are qualified on the second set of tooling, the offshore foundry becomes the primary production location. The parts are shipped to Pentz for inspection and delivery to the customer.

This approach ensures only the highest quality materials are used and avoids costly miscommunication of design and tooling requirements to offshore foundries. It significantly reduces lead time by producing and qualifying initial parts domestically and provides a second set of qualified tooling in the United States in case of a delivery problem (be it dock strike, accident or quality problem). As a result, we provide our customers with the most reliable offshore production of cast aluminum components available.

The key to making this work is our technical expertise in developing parts from concept through production qualification domestically and offshore for over 30 years. We have strategic partnerships with world class foundries in Asia that are capable of meeting our strict quality requirements. We support offshore production with in-house engineering support, back-up tooling, prototyping, quality assurance and complete secondary operations. In addition, we handle all international communications, translations, inspections, currency conversions and inbound freight and customs clearance and invoice you in U.S. dollars.
