Molding Process Selection

Dry Sand Molding

Dry sand molding (chemically bonded sand) is used when green sand molding is not practical or the existing tooling is for the dry sand process and cannot be converted to the green sand process. Intricate and large castings can be produced with dry sand molding and large dry sand cores.

Dry sand molding is excellent for producing parts that require high strength and pressure tight/vacuum tight sealing characteristics. Pentz also uses a combination of dry sand, green sand and heavy chills to produce parts of very high structural integrity for prototype and production applications.
